This Planet Sucks
By Melli (2000/07/17)Ok, please don't label me a complainer. I tend to be a little out of control after work, especially since I work nights. It doesn't help that the only station in town that use to be decent is now on my Crappy Radio Station list. How many times can one human being be forced to listen to Kid Rock? I doubt that even Kid Rock likes his own music!
And please don't get me started on MatchBox 20...I was better entertained by the New Kids on The Block. The Planet is supposed to be the local college station, and I understand that a lot of the under 21 crowd likes all those "MTV Bands", but come on, there are other listeners here too. I don't know how much more of Eminem I can take before I start taking hostages, and my first victims are the crew of the "Morning Alternative". I fully understand that they can't play what everyone likes to listen to, but they could try to play some of our requests. I am sure that they could call some of the record companies and ask for a large variety of so called "Alternative Rock".
I do have a theory concerning this rash of BAD music. I don't think that it is a coincidence that this is an election year. I am almost positive that Big Brother is slipping all of these new bad white boy rap, and all these "I am such a cute, cool 17 year old who walks around dressed like a hooker" girl singers, and the "Wow, look at me, I can sing and dance all at once", boy bands into the mainstream. Big Brother is trying to distract us with all this noise so that they could control our vote. Hey, whichever candidate turns up on MTV the most is going to be our next president. Just look at Bill Clinton. I would not be surprised if they team up their campaigning with the Kid Rock tour.
I give up. It probably doesn't matter. But, just as precaution I am not listening to The Planet till after the elections and I ask the rest of you to turn off your local crap stations as well. I'll really start to worry when Andy and Ben start recommending the latest Mandy Moore album.
