Eating Your Vomit

By Andy (2000/06/02)

I can't begin to express my disgust with the general public accepting the regurgitated music1 out there on the Top-40 scene. Most glaring example I can think of is Puff Daddy2 using a once honorable Police song. I just got through watching Mandy Moore with her new John Couger-Melloncamp song. They don't even deny they use the other people's music now, and you people still eat it up. I don't know who is more to blame. The artists who take so much pride in the music they don't create or you idiots out there with no self respect that willingly listen to their crap like pigs eating from a trough. Don't you find it a little disturbing that you are so predictable?

I can cite at least five other examples of Top-403 hits that are just rehashes, but the more I think about it, the more outraged I become. What adds even more insult to injury is that there are now 4 Britney look-a-likes. They are all blond, trailer trash, and sing R&B. What despicable level must you TRL bootlickers stoop to before you realize that all this crap sounds the same? Brainless twits...

F*** YOU

  1. "Music" is used very loosely in this context. Recording a bunch of pots and pans falling on the floor requires more talent than what these people throw into their songs.
  2. On a side note, Puff Daddy is not alone in his particular offense. Sting, the impotent bastard, would sell his mother if it gained him more > popularity. I swear, he's worse than "that guy" in high school who was the quarter back and crowned prom king. If he was such a great artist why does he constantly have to dabble in the Police archive in order to boost his career?
  3. I refuse to call it "pop" because the essence of that word has been tainted and someone has to restore its honor
